The ideas of darkness and cold nights was enough to light a fire bright under me. Where I am from, not many people made it out successful. Drugs, guns, and violence had taken its toll on the west side of Detroit. The ones that were able to stay on the right path, came from nothing and had nothing. Working hard and having a dream is all anybody really could have. Nobody wants to grow up lower middle class and if I could choose, I sure would not pick it, but growing up the way I and so many others did gives you a different way of thinking. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
